Creative Enzymes is one of the few companies in the world that can provide activity measurement service for galactitol 2-dehydrogenase. The activity assays are performed on the most advanced analytic instruments using spectrophotometric assays. With the most up-to-date technology and extraordinary enzymologists, Creative Enzymes can apply precise and fast measurement method in detecting and charactering the enzyme.
Galactitol 2-dehydrogenase (EC1.1.1.16) is an enzyme that can catalyze oxidation of galactitol, via using NAD+ as the redox cofactor, and produce D-tagatose. The systematic name of this enzyme class is galactitol:NAD+ 2-oxidoreductase, which is also known as GatDH and dulcitol dehydrogenase. The enzyme is a member of the enzyme family, that catalyzes the CH-OH group of the substrate and use NAD+ or NADP+ as the cofactor, which belongs to the general oxidoreductase family. And this enzyme plays an important role in galactose metabolism.
As an enzyme capable of the stereo- and regio-selective modification of carbohydrates, galactitol 2-dehydrogenase exhibits a high potential for application in biotechnology as a biocatalyst. In addition, galactitol 2-dehydrogenase is also a very interesting enzyme in the biotechnology industrial for the production of optically pure building blocks and the bioconversion of bioactive compounds. However, the measurement of the enzymatic activity of galactitol 2-dehydrogenase has not been well developed because it requiries the Mg ion for maintenance of its quaternary structure and enzymatic activity. Fortunately, Creative Enzymes made the accurate activity assay available for galactitol 2-dehydrogenase, based on years of experiences on testing the enzymes and optimizing the method. The spectrophotometric assay was demonstrated to be a reliable method for activity quantification for galactitol 2-dehydrogenase. The unique service distinguishes Creative Enzymes from our competitors. Overall, Creative Enzymes is your best choice for any research and development activities involving galactitol 2-dehydrogenase.
