Description
Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, is a type of vitamin D. Cholecalciferol can be formed by UV irradiation of 7-dehydrocholesterol, which is produced after cholesterol dehydrogenation. Therefore, cholecalciferol's vitamin D source is 7-dehydrocholesterol.

Applications
Vitamin D3 works by increasing the body's absorption of calcium and phosphorus and saturating plasma with calcium and phosphorus. It promotes growth and calcification of bones and contributes to strong and sound teeth. It relieves itchy, dry skin prevents dry, flaky skin, and also maintains normal levels of citrate in the blood.
