Vitamin D3, also known as cholecalciferol, is a type of vitamin D. Cholecalciferol can be formed by UV irradiation of 7-dehydrocholesterol, which is produced after cholesterol dehydrogenation. Therefore, cholecalciferol's vitamin D source is 7-dehydrocholesterol.

Applications
