Description
Fumarase catalyzes the reversible hydration of fumarate to malate. In its mitochondrial form, fumarate is involved in the Krebs Cycle, while the cytosolic form is involved in amino acid metabolism.

Unit Definition
1 U is defined as the amount of enzyme that cleaves 1umole of L-Malate to Fumarate per minute at pH 7. 5 at 37°C.
Storage
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks.
Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
