Description
UTP, or Uridine-5′-triphosphate, is an extremely stable nucleotide. This compound and its sodium salt are basic components for energy conversion in biological systems and can be used in a variety of related applications in molecular biology, such as in vitro transcription (IVT), RNA amplification, and siRNA synthesis. UTP can also participate in galactose metabolism, in which the activated form of UDP-galactose is converted to UDP-glucose, which enters the glycogen synthesis pathway.
