UDP-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine disodium salt is a donor substrate for O-GlcNAc transferase (N-acetylglucosaminyltransferases). The compound is useful in the synthesis of aryl azide derivatives that can be employed in the affinity labeling of glycosyltransferase and UDP-HexNAc pyrophosphorylase.
