Description
An analog of NAD. Use of Thio-NAD instead of NAD as a substrate for NAD(+)-consuming enzymes is more advantageous since the reduced form of Thio-NAD exhibits a substantial increase in absorbance at 405 nM, the most commonly available wavelength on microplate readers.
Enzyme Commission Number
EC 1.1.1.1
Purity
Determined by increase in absorbance at 398 nm on enzymatic reduction with ADH*at pH 10.0 (more than 92%) *ADH = Alcohol dehydrogenase (yeast) (EC 1.1.1.1.)
Specificity
Water content: < 10% by Karl Fischer
Storage
Keep tightly stoppered in the dark below 5°C. Moisture will reduce the purity. For prolonged storage, keep below-20°C.
