Description
Thiamine tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide (TTFD) is a derivative of vitamin B1.TTFD is used as a vitamin analog. Like vitamin B1, active thiamine combines with pyrophosphate in the body to form cocarboxylase, which participates in the oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvate and α-ketoglutarate in glucose metabolism and is necessary for sugar metabolism. When deficient, oxidation is blocked to form pyruvate, lactic acid accumulates, and affects the body's energy supply.
