Description
Taltirelin is a peptide drug used primarily as a thyroid hormone-releasing hormone (TRH) analog. It has specific applications in medicine, particularly in neurology and endocrinology.
Taltirelin mimics the action of natural TRH by binding to the TRH receptor.
It stimulates the secretion of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) from the pituitary gland, which promotes the secretion of thyroid hormones.
In addition, taltirelin has central nervous system effects, affecting nerve conduction and the release of certain neurotransmitters.
