From the imperfect yeast Rhodotorula glutinis. Somewhat similar enzymes have been isolated from the imperfect yeast-like organism Cladosporium sp. and the imperfect fungus Paecilomyces varioti.

Specificity similar to that of pepsin A. Cleaves Z-Lys┼Ala-Ala-Ala and activates trypsinogen
