Piper betle extract is a potential wound-healing agent extracted from the leaves of Piper betle L. Piper betle L. contains a wide range of chemical constituents including proteins, starch, fats, essential oils, phenols, alcohols, ketones, and alkaloids. Piper betle L. extract and its major constituent, eugenol, have been shown to exert an Inhibitory effect. Studies have shown that Piper betle L. extract has potential herbicide activity and can be used for weed management in agriculture.
