PIK-75 is a selective inhibitors of p110 alpha. PIK-75 can block the phosphorylation of PKB (akt) induced by insulin on both Ser 473 and Thr 308 in CHO-IR cells in a dose-dependent manner with an IC 50 of 78 nM. In 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes, inhibition of p110-alpha by PIK-75 decreases the insulin-induced phosphorylation of PKB on both sites (Ser 473 and Thr 308 ).
