Description
Nitrobacteria is a group of aerobic chemoautotrophic organisms that use carbon dioxide as a carbon source and oxidize ammonia or ammonium salts into nitrates through metabolism. The latter is used by algae to purify water. Especially in high-density aquaculture environments, the use of nitrobacteria can reduce the occurrence of water quality problems and thus reduce the risk of fish diseases. This not only improves the survival rate of fish, but also reduces losses caused by diseases, ultimately improving aquaculture efficiency.
