Mitoxantrone HCl is a DNA-reactive agent that intercalates into deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) through hydrogen bonding, causes crosslinks and strand breaks. Mitoxantrone HCl also interferes with ribonucleic acid (RNA) and is a potent inhibitor of topoisomerase II.
