Description
Lactic acid bacteria possess significant potential in reducing cholesterol, lowering blood lipids, antioxidant activities, and modulating the gut microbiota. Lactobacillus plantarum h6 is a strain we selected from traditional fermented foods in Heilongjiang, which has the capability to effectively clear cholesterol, with an in vitro cholesterol clearance rate of 92.07%. The results of multiple in vivo experiments have shown that L. plantarum H6 adsorbs cholesterol through the cell membrane, inhibits cholesterol absorption by upregulating the expression of ABCG5/8, and plays a role in lowering cholesterol and reducing inflammation by adjusting the structure of the gut microbiota. In addition, inactivated and lysed Lactobacillus plantarum h6 can serve as beneficial postbiotics to regulate hypercholesterolemia.
