Ocimum basilicum L. var. pilosum (Willd.) Benth, Labiatae, is the whole grass of basil. Summer and fall harvest the whole grass, remove the fine roots and impurities, cut fine and sun-dried. Holy Basil Extract Contains volatile oil 0.02-0.04%, the main components are basilene, α-pinene, 1,8-brancopine, linalool, geraniol, limonene, carene-3, methyl piperitol, eugenol, eugenol methyl ether, anisole, cinnamic acid methyl ester, hexen-8-ol-1, octanone-3, and furfural and so on.
