In vitro
FTY720 is a S1P receptor inhibitor and it can inhibit S1P receptor with IC50 of 0.033 nM. Fingolimod represents a new generation of immunosuppressant that modulates lymphocyte trafficking by interacting with the S1P (sphingosine-1-phosphate signaling) receptor, which plays a key role in the development of immunological and neurological components of multiple sclerosis (MS).
In vivo
FTY720 induces apoptosis in prostate cancer cells by inhibition of SphK1. Research finished MTT assay and find that FTY720 induced apoptosis in PC-3 cells.
