In vitro
Epothilone B stabilizes microtubuli of macrophages from NMRI mice.Epothilone B can bind to microtubules with IC50 of 3.3 uM In multidrug-resistant CCRF-CEM/VBL100 cells, IC50 values for epothilone B is 2 uM. Epothilone B can inhibit Hs578T, Hela, KB3-1, and KBV-1 with IC50 of 3 nM to 92 nM by inducing mitotic arrest.
In vivo
EpoBis highly toxic to mice and showed little therapeutic effect when compared with desoxyepothilone B.
