A cytosolic peptidase that is active at neutral pH. It has broad activity on peptides, although it is highly selective for Arg-Arg-2-naphthylamide, at pH 9.2. Active in the hydrolysis of enkephalins. A metallopeptidase, the type example of peptidase family M49.
