Description
A heme-thiolate protein (cytochrome P-450). The dehydration of 3α-hydroxy-3,5-dihydromonacolin L acid is believed to be spontaneous. The enzyme from fungi also catalyses the reaction of EC 1.14.13.198, monacolin L hydroxylase.
Form
Liquid or lyophilized powder
Storage
Store it at +4 ºC for short term. For long term storage, store it at -20 ºC~-80 ºC.
Synonyms
LovA (ambiguous)
Reaction
dihydromonacolin L acid + O2 + NADPH + H+ = monacolin L acid + NADP+ + 2 H2O (overall reaction); (1a) dihydromonacolin L acid + O2 + NADPH + H+ = 3α-hydroxy-3,5-dihydromonacolin L acid + NADP+ + H2O; (1b) 3α-hydroxy-3,5-dihydromonacolin L acid = monacolin L acid + H2O (spontaneous)
