Carob is a common deciduous shrub or small tree in the Middle East and Mediterranean region. Carob extract is mainly obtained from carob fruits.
Carob is rich in vitamins and minerals, especially D-chiral inositol (DCI).
D- Chiral-inositol has a positive effect on the improvement of PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome).
D-Chiro-inositol is known as the "second messenger of insulin" and can improve insulin sensitivity. After ingesting D-chiral inositol in vitro, after a series of reactions, it activates the insulin signaling pathway of phosphatidylinositol-3 kinase, which opens the pathway for glucose to enter the cells, reduces insulin secretion, and improves ovulation function.
