Camphor oil typically has a strong and intense aroma. It’s extracted by steam distillation from a Camphor tree that is constantly green and rich with branches. Camphor was an effective remedy for the plague in Persia. It was also used for embalming. Chinese people used the wood for building ships and temples because of its durability and aromatic properties.
