Description
Ballota nigra, black horehound, is a perennial herb of the family Lamiaceae. It has a long history of herbal use, for many purposes including: nausea, vomiting, spasms, cough, whooping cough, relieving symptoms of nervous disorders, assisting with mild sleep problems and increasing bile flow. It is not widely used in modern herbal medicine due to its unpleasant taste. But it does have a range of medicinal properties, especially as an antiemetic.
