Artemisia annua extract is a natural organic compound extracted from the Artemisia annua plant. Artemisia annua extract is rich in an active ingredient called Artemisinin, which is widely used as an antimalarial drug.
Artemisinin extracts also contain a variety of other bioactive components such as Artemisinin lactone, Artemisinin ethers and Artemisinin sesquiterpenes. These components are believed to possess pharmacological activities such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial and antiparasitic.
