Description
Reduction of arsenate is part of a defence mechanism of the cell against toxic arsenate. The product arseno-mycothiol is reduced by EC 1.20.4.3 (mycoredoxin) to arsenite and mycothiol-mycoredoxin disulfide. Finally, a second mycothiol recycles mycoredoxin and forms mycothione.
