Description
Acetyl Octapeptide-3 is a neurotransmitter-inhibiting peptide. Compared to Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, it has an additional alanine and aspartic acid, making it a mimic of the N-terminal end of SNAP-25. It competes for the binding site on SNAP-25 at the synaptic vesicle, thereby affecting the formation of the SNARE complex. If the synaptic vesicle complex is disrupted, it prevents the effective release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (Ach), thereby reducing muscle contractions and preventing wrinkle formation.
Applications
Particularly suitable for anti-sensitive care products for areas of the face where expressions are concentrated, such as around the eyes, forehead, and facial areas.
