Description
Isolated from the aflatoxin-producing mold Aspergillus parasiticus. Involved in aflatoxin biosynthesis. 5'-Oxoaverantin will spontaneously form averufin by intramolecular ketalisation. cf. EC 4.2.1.142, 5'-oxoaverantin cyclase.
