Description
Carotene is a fat-soluble precursor of vitamin A that exists in green and yellow vegetables. According to the number of double bonds, carotene can be divided into three categories: α, β, and γ. β-carotene is the most important component of it. Which is orange crystal, chemically stable, insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, easily soluble in organic solvents such as petroleum ether.
