Description
The main physiological function of pressor is to regulate extracellular fluid volume, promote water reabsorption in renal tubules, constrict blood vessels and cause an increase in blood pressure. Insufficient secretion of pressin causes symptoms such as polyuria, water loss and ravenous thirst. Lysopressin (Lysopressin acetate) is a synthetic derivative of pressin, its anti-diuretic and vasoconstrictive effects are relatively mild, and it can be used as a pharmaceutical synthesis intermediate.
