Description
The diguanylate cyclase has been engineered to remove phosphodiesterase activity and overexpressed in E. coli. It catalyzes the formation of guanosine triphosphate (GTP) into cyclic-diGMP, without the production of 5’-phosphoguanylyl-(3’,5’)-guanosine (pGpG).
No product inhibition even at high concentrations of GTP. In addition, the engineered diguanylate cyclase can be either immobilized or used to catalyze radiolabeled substrates.
